Service Technician at Katedralskolan

Katedralskolan is the oldest school in the Nordic countries, founded in 1085.

Located in the heart of Lund, the school is easily accessible by public transport for our 1500 students and 160 staff members. Katedralskolan offers high-quality education across four different college preparatory programs. As a service technician, you play a key role in our school and are part of a team with two other service technicians, IT technicians, and a school caretaker.

About the Role and Your Responsibilities

The work is varied and responsible, focusing on IT support and property-related services in a school environment, primarily consisting of the following parts:

• IT Support: Provide service to students and staff regarding IT issues, act as user support, troubleshoot and resolve problems with computers, phones, peripherals, as well as hardware and software. Assist with the use of tools and systems.
• Technology in Teaching Environments: Ensure functionality for computers, audio-visual equipment, printers, and other digital technology in daily use, during exams, and events.
• Property & Maintenance: Participate in the supervision of properties (fault reporting, follow-up with contractors) and perform simpler corrective maintenance, repairs, and assembly.
• Security: Work with lock, alarm, and security issues and participate in the school's SBA work (fire safety inspections and documentation).
• Other: Receive deliveries, assist with rearranging, moving, and transporting, and participate in local adaptations and renovations. And – like all employees at a school – contribute to safety, comfort, and a good school environment.

We Are Looking for You

We are looking for someone with a good sense of service, who is handy, creative, and has a genuine interest in technology. The work requires high collaboration skills and social competence.

You have completed secondary education, preferably with further education (e.g., YH) in IT and experience in similar tasks, preferably from an educational environment. You should have good knowledge and practical experience in IT work, lock, alarm issues, and systematic fire safety work (SBA).

You need to be handy, able to perform (sometimes heavy) lifting, and have at least a B driver's license. For the work to function, you should enjoy working with and among young people, have the ability to build good relationships, and be able to solve problems without a ready manual.

Previous work in a school environment is an advantage. The position also involves administrative work, so computer skills and the ability to work in several different systems simultaneously are required. You must be proficient in Swedish, both spoken and written. Since we have a couple of hundred English-speaking students, it is important that you speak English.

The position as a service technician is a 1-year temporary position, full-time with vacation employment and flexible hours. Normal working hours are 07:00-15:30, but varying working hours, in rare cases even evenings/weekends, may occur.
